I am seeking info on the Ludlow family of Chelsea (24 Queens Rd, now Chelsea Hospital Rd) the 1880s, they had a grocers shop. Judging by street directories it was a working class area but the Ludlows were upwardly mobile, they moved to Somerset around 1890 where father seems to have been a gentleman of leisure and sons went to Oxford and Cambridge. Would be very interested in contacting anyone with knowledge of C19 Chelsea to try and throw more light on family. I am especially interested in Frank Ludlow, naturalist in Himalayas from 1920s to late 40s. Or does anyone know other London local history mailing list(s)?
