Look Up Request for Wheeler's in WWI
« on: Monday 12 December 05 17:39 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I have three Great Uncles that were enlisted in various military units during  WWI.  I am looking for any information available on them or at least pointed in the right direction to get the information.

Pte.  William Wheeler was with West Kent Regiment.    ( Born approx 1882 in Fulham, London)
Pte.  Alfred Wheeler  was with "G" Co. Middlesex Regiment ( Wounded) (Born approx 1888 in Fulham, London)
Pte.  Charles  Wheeler  was with Old Country Regiment (Born approx 1883 in Fulham, London)

Any information available would be appreciated.   The above information came from a newspaper article written in Toronto, Ontario Canada during WWI.

Thank you

Hi Cheri,

If any of your Gt. Uncles were killed in action, you could try:

http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx

and

http://www.britishwargraves.org.uk

This might give you an indication at least whether any of them survived.

Good Luck,

Anne

You can download it for £3.50

Thank you,  That is a good place to start.  I not sure if anyone was killed I do know that they had three brothers and a Brother in law who enlisted in Canada.

If you happen to find any thing else please let me know.

Thank you very much

Cheri
