I'm researching the Davey family in Stambourne - that is the Sible Hedingham, Sudbury, Haverhill area of Essex. The only information I have on JOSEPH Davey is from the 1851 census in Middlesex where the date of birth appears to be 1767.
I looked at the Essex Archives online and found reference dated 7 June 1739 to an Edmd Davey of Stambourne, yoeman (morgage) for £13 payable to executors. Messuage in ' hamlet or endway' of 'Ost-End' in Finchingfield and other Daveys in the area.
It is possible he married in Essex and his wife died as the wife he has in the 1851 census Ann, is 23 years younger. They must have married in Willesden, Middlesex. I have found two daughters - Mary born 1820 in Lambeth and Catherine b 1826 in Willesden.
Any information found or advice as to how to track the family would be gratefully received. Jill

I have also found a brother for Catherine and Mary. John born 1811 ish wife Naomi children Emily Mary Davey, Charles who married Harriet Gardner and John Matthew who married Rose Rebecca Smith and had 2 chn Florence E and Emily Naomi.
Does anyone know this Davey family from Kingston

Hi Jill,
From the information you gave these could possibly be other children of Joseph (Anne & Elizabeth Davey [Monk] b ~1793 &1807)? I would also assume William and Susanna may be related as they have a son Joseph in 1837, who could be a grandson? On second thoughts this cannot be the correct Joseph as Elizabeth is a widow by 1841 in Doddinghurst! I'll leave the info anyway as it may be of some use?
