1841 census - TABRAM - Hertford/Ware

Hi All,

Can you find William & Jane Tabram in 1841.

In the 1851 census I think they were at differing addresses:

William (67) living with his daughter & son in law Thereza & Thomas Harrell at Hartham, Hertford.
I think William was born in 1783 in Stanstead Abbots

Jane was a nurse (55) to the Medcalf family at Rail Terrace in Hertford.
I think Jane (Lambert) was actually born in 1790 in Ware.
Jane was down as a widow in the 1861 census living with daughter Thereza!

Which makes me think I have the right family!

They had another daughter Sarah born in 1806 - who married William Bateman in 1835 and were living at Sam's Yard in Ware in 1851 - don't suppose by any chance mum & dad were living with them?!

Anything to tie this lot together would help!

Hi Keith,

Made a start on your posting and have trawled the entries for Hertford.  I found two Tabram references viz ...

HO107/447/2  F.12.  P.17  Hartham, Hertford.
Thirza Tabram  14
James Heard  25  Maltmaker
Sarah Heard  27
All born in county.

HO107/447/3  F.34.  P.41. Hertford
Sleeping on board of barges on the night of the census 6th June 1841
William Tabram  age 50 born in county.

I will search the Ware entries in due course.

That must be my William - asleep on a Barge - sounds like a for-runner of the Batemans!!

Looks like Thirza took it in turns to live with one of them - wonder when they all met up!

Where have you sent me!!

James Heard married Sarah Ann Scruby (which is a new name!) - 3 months before the 1841 census - she had 3 siblings: Stephen TABRAM Scruby; Joseph LAMBERT Scruby; William WHEELER Scruby - all those middle names are already on my tree.

Talk about joining everyone up - my lot seem to own this part of the county!

I am very pleased - honest!!
