John Fisher in Miln of Ruskie, Port of Menteith living 1735
« on: Friday 16 December 05 23:20 UTC (UK) »

Searching for the ancestry of both John Fisher, tenant in Miln of Ruskie (Kirk Session Clerk of Port of Menteith Parish in 1735), and his wife Mary Buchanan who was from Callander Parish.  They each may have been born as early as the 1670s.

While I do not know how many children they may have had, I have found baptismal records for seven of them:

William, 25 March 1703;
Patrick, 6 October 1706;
Mary, 30 July 1709;
Jean, 9 September 1711;
James, 18 March 1714;
Anne, 23 December 1715;
Janet, 18 March 1717.

I am descended from Jean Fisher and her husband John Sands in Arnvicar farm on the Cardross estate in Port of Menteith Parish.

Terrance
