I would be grateful for any information regarding the Van Kempen or Kempen family who may show in the West Ham area (place of residence in 1851 Plaistow Grove). In 1851 the Head of the family is Peter Van Kempen from Holland born c1797, an accountant to a spice company, his wife Emma C Van Kempen place of birth unknown born c1796, and a son Lemuel H born Ratcliff (i.e. out of county) c1830 and a clerk to spice company.
