Marriage of Robert Meggison in 1750s
« on: Tuesday 20 December 05 04:06 GMT (UK) »

Still looking for the first marriage of my gggg grandfather Robert Meggison to Hannah someone.  I don't know where they married but they raised their family at Hardwick Mill near Sedgefield.  Hannah died in May 1773 and Robert remarried  in June 1773.  I did find a marriage for a Robert Meggeson on the Joiner Index in Sunderland in 1745 but Robert would only be 15 at that time so don't think it would be him.  Of course, that doesn't give the bride.  I suppose Hannah might go by Ann but her death was under Hannah.I would greatly appreciate any help.

Is it possible he travelled?

There is a marriage for a Robert Meggeson to a Hannah Dunwell in 1769 in the Boyd's Index, but that took place in Kirk Hammerton in Yorkshire.

Cheers

Thank you very much, but I doubt that would be him.  There were 6 children baptised in Sedgefield for Robert and Hannah whoever between 1759 and 1769.  Thanks anyway.
