Hello
I am searching for a birth record of Fanny Smith, I know she was born in New York about 1852, she married in Liverpool in 1849. On the 1891 Census she is listed as "British Subject". Would anybody know where I could see ships passenger lists coming from New York to Liverpool. How did a person become a British Subject, would there be any records of this event. I hope somebody can point me in the right direction.

When was she born and married Jan? Also the maritime museum at Liverpool holds a number on immigration records as does the PRO.

Hi there,
I am moving this into our Emmigrants To USA section to ensure it is seen by those RootsChatters who have an interest or expertise in the area. If you look on the main Emmigrants board you will see lots of links that may help you:

Hi Rob,
She was born in New York (don't know what area) about 1852, she married in Liverpool 1849. I am shortly going to pay a visit to the maritime museum and the records office in Liverpool, so maybe I will find something. Thank you for your advice.
