Hi Wegsgirl

If it is an English certificate - very little. The best chance for ID is if a spouse or child is the informant - an unusual occupation would assist.

http://home.clara.net/dixons/Certificates/indexbd.htm

Name of the Deceased
Date & Place of Death
Sex Age Occupation
Cause Of Death
Informant's Details

On the certificate for a married woman you will often get the name of her husband and his occupation.

Certificates in Scotland include the name of the parents & spouse.
