Hi Linda,
Unfortunately no, in the 1861 census he is aged 39 and his wife is Elizabeth, but many thanks for trying, much appreciated

Hi Linda, Having second thoughts about your finds, believe now after trawling through many documents, the 1861 census shows his age incorrectly, so once again thanks for taking the time to look for me
Cheers
Colin

I think he is Hugh DOUTY in 1851. HO107/1751 folio 677 page 8
The IGI shows the baptism of Hugh at Sharnbrook in 1822, and the marriage to Elizabeth Elderkin in 1840, again at Sharnbrook. The son Henry is born 1850 at Bedford, and shows on the 1851 census as having father Hugh, but on the IGI as having father William. So, it looks as though Hugh and William are one and the same.

Hugh should be 19 in 1841 - and that would be rounded down to 15.
