Hi AmyUK

Thanks for your private message.

Lincer is Stone Number 883 - 885. which is a group of 4? stones inside a surround.

883 - 885 to my mind is only 3 stones; so am a bit confused as to how in 1952 they managed to describe it as such - See Map for location of same. - they are on the left hand side near to the top.

Stone 1 - Linser Mary, 1st May 1840, Aged 77 years.

Will add the other 3 stones as soon as I have scanned the map in to the computer.

Hi again Amy

The way that I interpret this drawing is that there are 4 Head stones shown on the left as  |__|__|__|__| with 3 Footstones on the right shown as |-|    |-| |-| .  The second Head Stone does not appear to have a footstone.

The Linser information is on stone 1 as previously given.

The other stones are as follows:

No 2. PEARSON Four infant children of James & Harriett (London)
PEARSON  Mr Sayers - 6th April  1849, aged 19 years and Thomas James, 11th Feb 1864 aged 40 years.  James Pearson 1866 aged 90 years and his wife Harriett 1869, aged 83 years.  Charles Pearson, 1888 aged 69 Years.

No 3. SAYERS Charles, 4th Feb 1831 aged 88 years and wife An 1830 aged 85 years; and four daughters Phoebe 1781 - 1850; Anne 1779 - 1862; Mary 1784 - 1863; and Harriett 1787 -  1869

No 4. SAYERS Charles, son of Charles and Ann, 24th June 1796 aged 19 years; sister Kitty 1796 - aged 20 years and Richard, infant.

Would suggest that this is a Sayers Family Plot, but one of the Sayers married a Pearson.  Where the Linser came in, I have no idea.

Perhaps it makes more sense to you than me

Hope it somehow helps in your research

Chris in 1066

There is just 1 entry for Boorer

No 969:-

BOORER Ann, wife of Robert, 28th December 1878 aged 69 years.

If you have a connection with same; can send you a plan of the stones in the yard.

Hi Chris:

Researching LAKER in Horsham and noticed the name on your list.  They were Non-Conformists so I don't quite understand why any of them were buried in CofE church, unless this was the only burial ground available.  There is, obviously, something here I don't understand.

Any details greatly appreciated.

Of all the LAKERs in my line, and all from Horsham, not a Thomas amongst them!

Thanks very much for looking.

Hi there

In reply to your question:

There are no Bakers and only 1 Lanham:

29th March 1833, Henry Lanham of Bishopstone, Aged 73 Years.

Hope it helps
