Please can someone help me find my missing relative. His name is William George Potter born around 1873 in Brighton. I have found him in the 1891 census still with his mum and brother, but cant locate him in the 1901 census or the 1911 census. I know he married in 1912 but I would love to know what he was up to before then.
Any help would be fantastic.

He may very well have been in South Africa Lots of chaps of that age are "missing" from the 1901 - the Boer War was in full swing

Try a post on the Armed Forces board - they're very good at that sort of thing on there

Misindexed on Ancestry as Patter... but on original the vowel 'o' looks badly written - something between an "a" and an "o".
1901 at 289 Queens Park Road Registration district: Brighton Sub registration district: East Brighton Emma Patter 56 born in Brighton, Head, Widowed William G Patter 27 born in Brighton, Unmarried, General Labourer Sharing the dwelling with other households
Have you tried looking for them as Patter in 1911?
