Ferguson - Fintry
« on: Monday 02 January 06 23:15 UTC (UK) »

I'm looking for information about a family of Fergusons from Fintry.
UPDATE:
Alexander FERGUSON and Anne DUNBAR married 1805 in Fintry
Their Children were:
William b 1806
Alexander b 1808
Thomas b 1810
James b 1813 married Jean Dick DUNN in Fintry in 1840
Margaret b 1816

James and Jean's children were:
Alexander (bn 1839)
Ann (b 1842)
William (bn 1844)
James  (bn 1848/9) married a Mary Dickson MILLER (daughter of David (b 1812 in Liberton) and Christina (nee JACK from Cramond) in Bothwell in 1875 and emigrated to NZ later that year.
Jane (bn 1854)
Elizabeth (bn 1856)

Thank you to those who have helped already, but if anyone has anything further to add I would be most grateful.

Regards

Hi Viv

I don't know whether you have this info regarding what looks like James's family, principally his parents' marriage and siblings. From IGI we have the following:

Parents: Alexander Ferguson and Ann Dunbar married on 16 Jan 1805 in Fintry.

Children: William 29 Jun 1806, Alexander 18 Sept 1808, Thomas 9 Sept 1810, James 15 Aug 1813 and Margaret 17 Mar 1816. All births in Fintry.

Regards.
