Hi, please can anyone lookup a marriage entry at the Northumberland Record Office for me. It is a Edward Charlton and Mary Hedley who got married at Falstone St Peter's 14 December 1811. I was thinking about it today and suddenly thought that Mary would have actually been only 18 or 19 when she got married so her father might be down as consenting to it as I found on another marriage entry of some of my other ancestors in Cumbria that this was the case and this marriage took place in 1771!
Would be very grateful for any help anybody could give me

Northumberland County Record Office situated in Morpeth, closed in Sept 2005. It will re-open circa October this year at new site in Woodhorn,near Ashington.
Some  parish records have in the meantime been deposited for access in Morpeth Public Library.
Parish records for Northumberland, usually in the form of transcriptions and indexes are available in a variety of libraries in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.
Are you just after the name of Mary Hedley's father ?
Was Mary a native of the Parish of Falstone ?

Hi, Thanks very much for the reply, when Mary Hedley married Edward Charlton she was living at High Bought Hill, Edward was living at Low Bought Hill but as far as I know from the 1851 and 1861 censuses Mary was born in Elsdon. I have found a Mary Hedley on the Elsdon parish registers who is a couple of years out and I am really just trying to match the name of her father with any father's name on the marriage entry.
Would be very grateful for any help you could give me.

"a couple of years out"
Which way ?, bearing in mind , that older parish records might only give date of baptism, not date of birth !
The name of the second son of Edward and Mary should/could hold a clue to her father's name... the first son, taking Edward's father's name.... that is if they were following the Naming Pattern.

Hi, sorry about the delay, have just come home from my weekly horseriding lesson. The Mary Hedley I found in Elsdon was baptised in 1795 so a couple of years forward and the children I know about that she and Edward had were Matthew born 1812, William born 1818 and Jane born 1820. 1812 to 1818 is quite a gap of course so I don't know if there were any others
Again very grateful for any help you could give me on this matter

Had my nose in some Parish records today ( well really transcriptions from Parish records)
In Falstone could not spot Edward/Mary marriage
(14 Dec 1811... or near that date.)
Spotted these events in Elsdon Parish...
Marriage 25 Oct 1788 ( by license) Robert Hedley and Ann Ord (witnesses William Brown and William Ord)
Baptism 20 Dec 1795 Mary daughter of Robert and Ann Hedley of Monkridge
Baptism 30 Apr 1798 (born 21 Apr 1798) Robert, 3rd son to Robert and Ann Hedley.
Baptism 28 Sep 1799 (born 31 Aug 1799) Ann, 3rd daughter of Robert Hedley bhw (by his wife) Ann
Ord, notp (natives of this parish).
Theabove MIGHT be of use to you.
