Pigot/Pigott near Plymouth 1760/1800
« on: Thursday 05 January 06 00:31 GMT (UK) »

Hello,
Wondering if there is any record of the surname Pigot (all spellings) in the Plymouth area at the end of the 18th Century. I have a lost ancestor who fought at Culloden, was captured, transported to Jamaica, was rescued then disappears certainly from Scotland. One of his sons, joins the Royal Artillery (stationed in Newfoundland) marries a Harriet Mossman, (father Andrew Mossman of Plymouth) in Nfd.
1804.
Any reference to Alexander Pigot, David Pigot - father and son. Other names likely to be John Pigot or Thomas Pigot.
Any information at all would be great.
Thank you
Doug Piggott
