MM maybe I should get my parents to buy me a copy. I'm a Kiwi now living in Canada - it could be helpful, although most of my NZ lines are already complete - thanks to the Internet, and my parents.

Hi Digger,
It's an amazing book!
As an inveterate Googler I thought I knew it all.
But Ros Henry's book has put me to shame! The depth and breadth of her Internet knowledge is incredible, and the NZ sources she quotes are absolutely fascinating.
Anyone who is interested in New Zealand (my Gran went there from Sheffield at age 5 and later came to Oz) should have it

Hi Kakapo,
Sorry, there's nothing much to help you specifically with tracing German immigrants to NZ. Perhaps you could ask the people here on RootsChat?
Thanks for the kind words Gaygirl. I'm afraid the whole thing is very out of date already - revised edition coming up soon!
Merry Christmas all,
Ros

I agree with all the posts ;DI found it in my local library and have ordered it through Angus and Robertson here in Australia if they can find the link im going back tommorrow to see if they can get it for me....... I have extended it twice now its so down to earth easy to read for a beginner and also it is written from 'our side' of the world which is refreshing

Hi, it seems I have come across this thread too late, I ordered the book through a site I normally use and back came the reply today "has recently gone out of print"
Does anyone know when the revised edition is coming out. It sounds as it is a gem of a book to have.
Cheers KHP
