Wilford « on: Thursday 05 January 06 15:54 GMT (UK) »
I am desperately trying to locate a birth of a Rebecca Wilford born around 1811 location unknown. As this lady appears on the marrage certificate as a witness of my Great Great Granfather John Wilford born Blaby Leicestershire 1818 who later Mrr in St Margaret's Leicester 1838 to Charlotte Kendal. Rebecca at this time uses her Mrr name of Ireland. She later goes on in life to Mrr a Daniel Philpot 1877. She is always closely linked to my line throughout the years leading me to believe she is either a older sister or cousin etc

Yes I already have these and this is where I've been stuck for 7 years. It appears that Joseph remarries but this is not so as he is burying his daughter in the city 5 years later with his wife Mary. I know the family is not originally from Blaby as Joseph is starting to be investigated in 1815 by the Parish. The Rebecca I seek I believe to be an older child of Joseph & Mary but not born in Blaby. Her Mrr certificate 1877 names her Father as Joseph. And she is always linked to John throughout his life.So finding her birth may clarify which of the many Joseph Wilford's is mine. My Grandfather entry in the Lord Mayor book of Leicester says his family came from Market Harborough,Lubenham and Laughton over the decades. And yes there is a Joseph in 1805 Mrr Mary Loveday in Great Bowden but I feel the Rebecca I seek will prov this one way or another when her birth is found. I also feel there will be more children I have no knowledge of yet filling the gaps. In 1841 John is living in Harborough and so is a Joseph and Mary but not together to say its a safe link.Thankyou Mike for you help much appreciated.
