James Hardman c 1818
« on: Monday 02 January 06 21:47 GMT (UK) »

I'm looking for birth and marriage details for James Hardman.

He was born in the City of London around 1818 and married a girl called Mary who was born around 1821 in Lambeth.

They had at least 4 children. James (1847), Harriett (1848), John (1854) and Louisa (1857).

James Snr died on 17 Jan 1867.

Any help much appreciated

Hi Brian

Afraid I can't find a really close match on the marriage.  There is one possibility here http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl (note: this resource is incomplete) for a James Hardman who married Lambeth Sept Qtr 1844 - amongst the possible brides is a Mary Ann Payne (unfortunately this resource shows a number of grooms and brides rather than which married which), so it's rather risky.  I noticed that Mary is born Lambeth on the 1861 census so ...   There are other marriages there which may be worth looking through.

The best option is to purchase the birth cert of one of the children.  There are a couple of good possibilities also here http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Good luck with that

Biker,

Thanks for your reply.

I have already investigated the marriage that you suggest but it is i different James Hardman.

I shall carry on searching.

Thanks
