There's only one Stutley marriage on the Hunts Marriage Index: 1821 Brampton. Wm Tether Stutley and Sarah Twigden.
Other than 1861 does he show a birthplace and age on any other census? Huntingdon can often refer to the county rather than the town.
Brampton parish register is not available on fiche from Hunts FHS nor has it been filmed by the LDS, but is available for viewing at Huntingdon Record Office.
Regards
David

I've found him now in 1851 where he is 28 born Huntingdon, Hunts. Brampton is only a couple of miles from Huntingdon. As there are no other Stutley marriages in Hunts (and no burials at all on the NBI) the Brampton marriage in 1821 might well be Charles' parents. The marriage cert of Charles and Martha would give you fathers' names.
Baptisms in the parish of Huntingdon St Mary & St Benedict are on the BVRI and he doesn't show there, so if he was baptised in Huntingdon it narrows it down to the parish of Huntingdon All Saints, and Brampton would be worth checking as well.

David just received marriage of Charles it does indeed say his father is William could you tell me how I would go about ordering the marriage you so kindly found for me? Still no joy with finding Charles birth although the census say Huntingdon I now have my doubts all the experts on rootschat have looked no find wondering if could be Leicester where he was married.

I don't think he was born in Leics. He gave Huntingdon in two consecutive censuses, and Hunts is not well covered on either the IGI or the BVRI. He's there; it's just a case of finding where.
If you can't get to Huntingdon Record Office you'll probably need to use their research service as Brampton PRs have not been filmed nor are they available on fiche.
http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives/visiting/crohuntingdon.htm
is the place to start. I've used them a couple of times recently (once for Brampton records) and they were very good. In addition to getting a copy of the marriage entry I would get them to search in Brampton 1821-5 (they do have an index so it's simple) for any Stutley entries. If Charles isn't there they could also search Huntingdon indexes as well - the minimum charge of £15 gives you half an hour of their time which is plenty for what you need. You can arrange their research research service online at http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives/what/hrs/
Good luck - keep us posted!
