Charlotte ROSHIER?/ROSIER nee BALAAM Where Did She Go?
« on: Sunday 08 January 06 16:02 UTC (UK) »

Charlotte Roshier/rosier/rosher/rozier  nee Balaam is one of my brickwalls
I know she was born c 1800 in Suffolk and in 1822 she married John Roshier(spelling on record)
I have know idea of her parents except I was told by another Rosher they were Samuel Soar Balaam & Susannah Bungay, but I have no proof.
Her husband John was transported in 1834 to Australia and whilst out there remarried to another convict ellen hudson, they had their 1st child in 1848 but didnt marry till 1851, now did that mean John knew Charlotte had died there was a charlotte who died in 1839 age 44 in Hitcham.

Charlotte & John had 5 children 1 supposedly born after John was transported
they were
Anna Maria b 1823 married twice william turner & Robert Catchpole
Robert b & d 1825
Sarah b 1829
Betsey b 1832 who is my g g grandmother married James Death
John Theosophilus b 1834 who I also cant trace

If the Charlotte who died in 1839 is my charlotte it will perhaps account for why I cannot find her perhaps I should look for the certificate?

In the meantime if anyone can shed any light on her parents or can find her in 1841/51  I have looked but no luck also where is John theosophilus?
