Hello
in the 1851 census i have found a John Laidler age 69 born scotland an ag lab
livung in Holmside Durham at 60 Burn hale along with a wife called margaret born abt 1803 in Lamesley Durham with 3 sons Joseph 9
George 4 and Adam age 1.
i have been unable to find a marriage for this couple and the details recorded on Johns death in 1867 are scant .
can anyone please help me to fill in the gaps with this family any help or pointers in where i should be looking would be much appreciated.thankyou for taking the time to read my message kind regards aeroqueen

1861 census RG9 3735 F12 p21  Butsfield Durham
John Laidler Hd 80 labourer b Scotland
Margt Laidler wi 58 b Chester le Street Durham
John Patterson so 26 platelayer b Chester le Street
Joseph Laidler so 20 coalminer b Holmside
George Laidler 16 coalminer b Holmside

Looks as if Margaret had been married before to a Mr Patterson if this is the right lot.   No sign of the youngest boy.

Margaret Laidler Hd widow 60  b Wreckington Durham
John              " so 34 labourer b Holmside
Joseph      " so 29 labourer           "
George       "   so  25    labourer     "

Margaret has knocked a few years off her age here.  All these places are within a few miles of each other.
