Hi Mick

To my knowledge it was the first time it was held there. Usually they have one near Lakeside.

It was same sort of things as the Grays one.  From memory it was around February??

If you go on the familyhistoryfairs site you can generally get the programme of events for the year.

I usually end up going on my own so after a couple of hours I've had enough.

Hi Mick

Just had a quick look on there, 2005 doesn't have any fairs in this area at present.

The Brentwood one was held at a school and the Grays one at the civic hall.  Neither listed at present

Graham how about you collate names and then we all meet at your stall at a set time hehehe.  Rootschat get together and make yours seem the busiest stall thus making more people call to you and you can then tell em about rootschat Smiley a s well as make your first million.

Rob

I'm not cheap Rob, honest - but I'll do it for a hundred grand never mind a million :-))

Seriously, if anyone is interested then contact me off list (my e-mail address is on the profile) - say by a week tomorrow - with suggested times and I'll post what appears the most convenient time by reply to everyone who contacts and on this thread for the information of anyone else who might be interested.

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
For once she was a true love of mine

Have her make me a cambric shirt
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Without no seam nor fine needle work
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Tell her to weave it in a sycamore wood lane
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And gather it all with a basket of flowers
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Have her wash it in yonder dry well
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
where water ne'er sprung nor drop of rain fell
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Have her find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between the sea foam and over the sand
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Plow the land with the horn of a lamb
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Then sow some seeds from north of the dam
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
And then she'll be a true love of mine

If she tells me she can't, I'll reply
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Let me know that at least she will try
And then she'll be a true love of mine

Love imposes impossible tasks
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Though not more than any heart asks
And I must know she's a true love of mine

Dear, when thou has finished thy task
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Come to me, my hand for to ask
For thou then art a true love of mine

PS I'm not going  -I live in Kent.

So long as the List Admins don't mind you advertising our wares I certainly don't :-)) All orders welcome - whether for Christmas or not :-))

Whoops! OK - I'm an old so and so :-)))))))) I can't sew either - apart from buttons, and I do admit to darning many years ago when I was at college.
Anyone who is coming to Scarborough tomorrow should - all being well cos she crashed har car last night (but she's OK) - see Jill embroidering a photo of her great grandmother - cross-stitch 1 thread at 28 count (I think).

The Brentwood fair was held last March. The organiser is hoping to hold another fair there next year, keep your eyes on this list and we'll post an announcement about it when it's due to take place.

Kind regards

Well Graham,

I went to the fair and did say hello to you and your wife.

Very impressed with the cross stitch tree that was on display.

I used to cross stitch some years ago and may well be tempted again with this.

Bought some charts to fill in from you.  Hope there is a fair at Brentwood again next year as this is the nearest to me in Essex.

Invested in a certificate binder though from another stall, it will be nice to stow them all in one place, will copy them though to keep in the record folders I have for each line.

Thanks for the kind words about the cross stitch tree and for the blank charts purchase.

With Manchester yesterday that's most of our fair visits over for this year - just one more to go at Wakefield on 13th November.

Well,

Being a cross-stitcher I will have a look at them now.  I did not know I could combine my 2 hobbies in one.  Cool

Amy,

Cross-stitch is really easy,  with all that you have mastered,  web-site and all,  you will pick it up in no time.  Grin
