Anne

Hatfield Heath is over the border in Essex, between Hatfield Oak and Sheering.

Sorry mean to say that the records should be in Hertfordshire as they are not at the Essex records office, unless anyone knows otherwise?

HALS (Herts Archives and Local Studies) at County Hall Hertford, do not keep records for Hatfield Heath either.  The LDS have a few films for Hatfield Heath, Essex.

Hi Rik
I spoke to the archivist for Hatfield Broad Oak and she says that Hatfield Heath is one of the same as the Church was not built till 1852 yet the LDS lists the Independant church from 1731-1837 so I am a little confused now as the archivist knows nothing of the church!

Oh Anne, the joys of family history!  Well that IS interesting, might be worth ordering the films to see what's on them, then you can tell the archivist! Smiley

Hi,

You say you are looking for any Claydon/Clayden families in Essex.  I have records of several families in the Clavering and Berden areas of Essex.  If your research takes you there get in touch.
