Goggy,

Sorry I don't quite understand what you are asking (silly of me)?

What are you trying to do with the 35mm prints?

S'okay Trystan, brevity isnt the most lucid of method's to explain a problem!
Intention,or want,to enlarge print's,using scanner/copier,also have Adoe wizgig's Photo shop oozit's and other,as yet unexplored thigummies.
Can I just use copier/scanner(please),not yet adept at this lark!!!
                Thank you,Goggy.

Goggy! am I right in thinking that you have some prints you wish to copy  using a scanner (or are they 35mm negatives).
And secondly do you have adobe photoshop (if so is it photoshop 5, 6, 7 or cs).
If I am right then we should be able to talk you through it.

Okay Goggy, lets go,
For a start - what size are your prints, I presume they are about  postcard size, If so stick em in your scanner face down.

Now let's check that your photoshop is set up to use your scanner.
1/  open up photoshop

2/  click on file and then from the dropdown box go to import - hopefully from there you will see the name of your scanner,   -  If your scanner doesn't appear in the import list let me know, we may have to go about it a different way.

3/  click on your scanners name and you should get a dialogue box of some sort.

4/   In the dialogue box should be a preview of your photo and somewhere in the box should be an ability to set the resolution in dpi or ppi (dots or pixels per inch) set this to 600 and click on scan. After a few minutes your picture should appear in photoshop.
What I usually do at this point (especially if you have plenty of room on your hard drive) is to make a further scan at 1200 dpi but should not be really necessary unless your photo is very small - 1200 will probably slow down your computer.

If you have any problem with any of this let us know

                                                   Denn

P.S.   I may not be able to reply immediately because as may know I'm in Oz, so I am sleeping while you are awake and vice versa.

Can't say as I know Lizbeff unless that is Elizabeth! Isn't it a suberb of Adelaide around mile end. I've been through S.A. a few times when traveling bettween the east and Perth where I live, but the only time I've stopped in the state was a holiday in 1972 when we wet to Port fairy and returned to Melbourne via the ocean road.
Anyhow all that apart how are you going with your scanning foray?

G'Day Denn,flat out like a Lizard drinkin'!
Furst hurdle got a Twain 32 oozit come up,then printer cartridgen runs out,no worries right, three wheels'll do for a learner, got tiny photo in the viewer, tried to enlarge, practice you understand?
Lot's  of stuff to play with!!Pressed summat wrong, immediate shut down!! Three tries later no further on,so suspect Twain dont like me.
Yes,Elizabeth it is,and a bit more than Mile End,then+now, you missed the Barrosa Valley!!Wineries,German grub, beaut views, and beaches to die for on the the Coast.Lovely place, but 'ot,,ot,'ot when it feels like it!
Back to the job anyway,I do think this Twain is the blocker, but await your appraisal.

Goggy, Just next to the twain tag is there another tag listing your scanner? if so click on that one and follow through from there.

If not I'd like to see the twain box that opens up - to show me this follow these instructions.

1/ when the twain box is open press ctrl+print screen keys on your keyboard.

2/  close the twain box.

3/  press ctrl+N on your keyboard - this opens a new document square.

4/  press ok to open the document.

5/  Press ctrl+V on your keyboard - you should now have a copy of your screen with the twain box on it.

6/  save this file as a jpeg, you should get the box pictured on your screen - where it says quality put in 5 and save to your desktop.

7/   Post the image back here

                                  all the best
                                                Denn
