James Tullett Birth 1817

Hi, 

I am looking for any help in finding the birth of James Tullett, according to the 1861 census for Essex he was born c1817 in what looks like Woking. I have also tried in vain to find his marriage to Eliza ? First child born 1844. The entry on the IGI is submitted by a member so cannot be verified.

I have been stuck on this one for a long, long while. Anything that can help would be much appreciated.

Your James & his family have lead me a merry dance through the census Wink and for all that I have very little to offer but what little there is, is here.

1861 - Westham, Essex.  RG9/1054/70/7

James Tullett  44 ships lab. born NOT KNOWN, Surrey
Eliza                35                born ? Essex

I tried every spelling for the family in 1851 but no luck.  So James only knew he was born in Surrey not exactly where.  The marriage of James & Eliza is not yet on FreeBMD.

Hi Jane,

Many thanks for trying for this elusive man, he has led me a merry dance too! This is a long standing brick wall, it appears that this family did not like registering very much. Years ago before computers had all this info and when I was more able and living near to London my husband and myself went to search the books every Saturday and we never found his daugher Eliza's marriage either Sad We looked many times thinking we had missed it. I have now done many searched on 1837. Maybe one day I may be able to put the flags out if I solve this one!!

Sorry for the late reply, just returned from a weekend away.
