Hi

A tale to remind us to never take information on face value.

I have been searching for the burial place of my 2 x Great Grandfather for what seems like forever, having lived myself in the town he died in, seemed like a real bonus. The most obviously location was the main council run cemetery, so a phone call to their burial department, get the location, easy....but after a 3 days wait they came back and said no record of him. Ok so he must be in one of the two churchs with their own graveyard, after painstaking coldand wet searches of each grave, no luck.  A call to the two undertakers most likely to have been used, also proved fruitless (one of them did check with the Council cemetery and got same reply)

In utter frustration I contact a professional researcher for help, she made a search of records at Canterbury Cathedral and , yes he is buried in the council run cemetery.  Name spelt correctly, date correct so no idea why they could not find it on their system.
