Can anyone help find Henry Stables...born 1810 Langdale.
On the 1881 census he is living with his daughter and son-in-law John and Elizabeth Rigg at Wallthwaite,Langdale.
Henry is a retired farmer and shoemaker.
Another daughter Sarah married in 1874 to James Lee Barrow .....all these people (bar John Rigg) born Langdale..
Any further information of any or all most welcome......

Henry Stables was still alive in 1901 aged 91...made of tough stuff in that area it would appear...He was my husbands GtGtGrandfather..
Don't suppose i could be cheeky and ask if there is any sign of James Lee Barrow (18) on the 1871..he married Henry's daughter Sarah in 1874...notice Sarah is not with the family in 1871 ? wonder where she was ?

Hi Mo......Fantastic....been trying on the 1861 for James Lee Barrow and could get nothing at all...With the place name of Elterwater i was able to find the whole family..some one has put them down as Banow..no wonder i could not find them !

Hi Mo...Indeed it does...Agnes Bowness was Sarah Stables older sister..looking at the age of Agnes's youngest child (1mth) looks like Sarah might have gone to look after her sister and the baby..
