Intention To Marry lookup - DYETT, O'SHANASSY - Hastings

Arthur Augustus Percy DYETT 'married' Margaret Ann O'SHANASSY at Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand according to the birth certificates of two daughters born in Melbourne in 1892 and 1893. One certificate even quotes '28 October 1890'

Neither person has been located in either the NZ Marriages or the Matching Brides and Grooms index around that time.

Arthur is registered on the Hawkes Bay Electoral Roll of 1890 where he lived at West Clive.

I would appreciate any help looking for an elusive ITM

Hi Bruce,

If there wasn't a marriage it's unlikely that there will be an ITM notice either.

I have the same problem, with a date of marriage given on two daughters birth certificates, but no marriage event found. I suspect the parents never married, and if they moved to a new town who would ever know?

Since you have a date I'll check the ledgers for an entry, but don't hold your breath.

No worries. I hope you've discovered the parents of both parties in any case. I've only got the family of the bride in mine, but the groom was Irish I think (with a name like Frederick Joseph Michael HEALEY you're think so anyway) and his parents and his place of birth weren't given on his death certificate, so I'm a bit stuck.
