Hi there, thanks for that fantastic link.  I have worked at Tameside Hospital and was aware that it used to be a workhouse. It is only when you see old photos that you realise just how grim it must have been. Many of the original buildings are still there if you look closely. Oh what tales could be told if walls could speak  Lincsbabe
