Marriage lookup please William Richardson about 1851

Hi
I am trying to find out the maiden name of Elizabeth or Eliza Richardson. She was born in Whitby, approx 1832 and married William Richardson who was also born in Whitby. Family Search suggests they got married about 1851 Yorkshire, England.

They turn up again on the 1881 census at Sparks Farm, Bishopwearmouth. I know they were childless but they took in my gt grandfather Robert Dixon when he was orphaned sometime between 1873 and 1881.

I have tried on FreeBMD - 1837online and Family Search but no luck!

Any help gratefully received. Smiley

Have been looking for the marriage and the nearest I found matching the names was in Leeds which is a long way from Whitby Smiley
I then checked familysearch and found the entry, it is not from a church register, but a members submission, so you will need to do further checks to find out where they were married as it is sure to be on the gro index and maybe you have been looking in the wrong year.

Thanks for looking. I have tried on the 1837online resources for a few years either side of 1851 but no luck.

Not really sure what to do now. maybe it would be a good idea to try to find them on the earlier census records ?

I think I will post a lookup request but I suppose not knowing where they were living would make it a difficult task for someone.

I am guessing they were either Sunderland or Yorkshire.
