can anyone please, please help me i am trying to track doen info on a Mr Joseph Webb who lived in Aylesbury around 1920, he had a daughter there her name is June Born around 1938, then a few years after this he married her mother, but i can't trcak her mothers name and therefore i am having trouble getting their marriage cert, as i only have appro dates please help

I don't have this particular Joseph WEBB, but I do have others!
Have you tried approaching it from another angle? If you know when approximately the daughter was born, you could search for her birth certificate. This will give her mother's maiden name. In fact, you shouldn't need to order the cert, because the indexing for births after 1911 includes the mother's maiden name.
Armed with this information, you could try searching for the marriage with the bride's name, especially if it is more unusual than WEBB.

thanks for the useful info, the only trouble is i don,t know whether joseph's daughter june would have been reg as a Webb on her birth cert as they were not married when she was born

Am kicking myself - of course she would be registered with her mother's name! Silly of me & I apologise.
The only other thing I can think of is looking for the mother's death, assuming you know when & where roughly. That would give previous names for her.
Did June marry? I wonder if her marriage cert would give more than one surname for her? Never come across this situation in such modern times, so not really sure.
I hope you crack it and if you find your WEBB connection goes back to Gloucestershire, Trevethin Monmouthshire or Chippenham give me a shout!
