Ellen McCarthy married James Ryan c 1860 County Waterford, they had a son born about 1862, name unknown, would like more information about this family and want to know if there were other children? Is there any one who things they may be related to this family.

Hi Jericho
I am also researching RYAN in county Waterford. Patrick RYAN born about 1875, believed to be the son of Denis RYAN, butcher, possibly in Waterford city.
Any link? Would be pleased if you can recommend any sites or research methods.
kind regards, Arranroots

Hi Arranroots
My Irish research has been on permanent hold for some time, we both know how difficult it is to get alot of information from Ireland, really wish I could help on this one but I just don't know enough about my Ryan family , haven't had much luck with any of my Irish families to date, like you I could also do with a few more new links as well.
regards jericho

Not much movement at the station lately so thought I'd toss a pebble in the water. With all of Jericho's interest,s there,s bound to be a Prendergast connection also, with all the derivative,s naturally! Arranroot,s,will have a good scratch thru' my six(?) notebook,s for more Ryan,s.One I did mention was in recent year,s,no good for a back track? Goggy.

Hi goggy
Sorry, but I've not come across the name Prendergast in any of my Irish research to date, although I have had contact with others searching the McCarthy- Ryan connection and they also have the Prendergast connection. So I'm either looking for any entirely different lot of McCarthy's and Ryan families or I've yet to find the connection. As far as I know my families all had very strong connections to Ballymacart.

Thanks for your interest Goggy - the three of us should pool our resources, but I think I will have to bite the bullet and learn how to use LDS resources finally!
If only Rootschat could crack this Irish research problem, we could make T&S millionaires!

Jericho.. Ballymacart hasn't hit my radar yet,and I'm too thick to follow more than one 'line' at a time! That one of mine seem to have had a finger in every pie, that's why I mentioned it. Just 'Google on the name,s on your list,+see what I mean! Goggy.

G'Day Arranroot's! Well my need is for the 1911census,which I'm sure will cure all my search problem,s!!! Anything done now is seemingly marking time, waiting for the whistle. During this period whatever I can do,I will.So there you have it,fill yer boot,s! I have used my 'Twelve Apostrophe's'more sparingly this time Goggy.
