Edwards Family of Caernavon

My gt.gt.gt.grandfather was Thomas Edwards a shoemaker who lived in Caernavon.I know of Thomas only from the marriage certificate of his son John who was my gt.gt.grandfather.John went to live in Liverpool and it was there he married his wife Margaret Evans in 1844.John was a tin plate worker and brazier.In the 1851 census John states that he was born in Caernavon in 1816,in the same census Margaret says she is the daughter of William Evans a miner and that she was born in Anglesey in 1820.In the 1861 census Margaret says that she too was born in Caernavon,so I am a little puzzled as to what to believe in this instance.I estimate that Thomas Edwards and William Evans would have been born circa 1790/5.I have searched for William and have found one likely match whose wife was named Mary,one of the witnessess at the marriage of John and Margaret was a Mary Evans,so possibly Margarets mother made the journey from Wales to Liverpool to be with her daughter on her wedding day in 1844.If anyone reading this can add any further information I will be delighted to hear from you.Thank you.
