I'm looking for the marriage of John Peacham and Ann who raised a family in Battle, the first child born 1823.
I'm also hoping to find baptism records for them both. Census records indicate John was born about 1803 and Ann 1802, but the confusing thing is that on the 1871 census both are recorded as born in Battle, yet in the 1851 census John is recorded as born in Gosport, Hants, and Ann in East Grinsted. Ann's age also varies by approx 10 years.
I thought maybe there were two Peacham families, but the childrens' names remain consistent . . . could the first wife, Ann, have died and John married another Ann??? It'a a puzzle.
The various spellings of Peacham make it that much harder . . . Peackam, Peachum, Beacham, etc!!!
