Thomas Langford marries Elizabeth Payne in Pyrton ( about 7 miles from Bix) in 1775. My guess is that Payne was transcribed as 'Prince' for the birth of Dorothy and Catherine; but only a guess. It would be interesting to see copies of the original records.

They must have been transcribed incorrectly, i have seen the film of the original and all the children are written down as Payne. Have just noticed looking back at the record that one of the sponsors for Catharine's christening was a Mary Prince

Have you information on the birth of Thomas Langford. Could our man be Thomas Langford Christened 17th March 1750 at Bix to Philip and Mary.
Do you have any information on James Pilley before his marriage in 1835?

I have not yet looked into Thomas Langford, although in my records i have got a christening for a Mary Langford in 1761 daughter of Philip Langford and Mary Crook, as for James Pilley all i know is that he had an older brother and sister Mary Pilley born circa 1798 died 22nd July 1873 and William Pilley born circa 1801 and died 1834, their parents were William Pilley (Farmer) born Circa 1768 died 6th Jan 1832 and Sarah ? born circa 1760 died 6th March 1844.
