Appleby Parish Records

Does anyone out there have access to the parish records of Appleby?

I would like to check the marriage of John FROW in 1816 (I think) to Ann. Was it to Ann FOWL or Ann Towls. I thought this could be the same person, depending on the handwriting (I was given this information some time ago and haven' t seen the record myself)

But now I am trying to check out this information I find there is both an Ann Fowl and Ann Towls around the area at that time !!

The information I was given was that they married in Appleby, but there first three children were born in Immingham, Barrow-on-Humber and Owmby. The rest were born in Appleby.

Any help would be gratefully received.

PS.     I have quite a lot of information I would like to check or discover from a number of Lincolnshire Parish Records. ( Winterton, Wraby, Broughton, etc). Are any of these online? How would I go about obtaining them?

Hi Gill,

I don't have access to the parish Records but I have the Marriage Index for that area and it says Ann TOWLS and John Frow were married in Appley in 1816.

2 other Towl mariages took place in Appley before that and they were:
William Towl & Susannah Carr 1799
William Towl(widow) & Mary Phillipson 1810

No Fowl marriages in Appley before Ann's, if that is any help.

Are you a member of the Lincolnshire Family History Society?   They may well have published transcripts of the records you want.  Worth looking anyway.

Re: Frow of Broughton.  Just want to say ,I left a previous message for you . My 3 times gt grandfather Thomas Turner married Sarah Frow of Broughton by Banns at Worlaby on 2nd Dec.1817
