My gt grandad was John Slater and his father lived at either 11 or 14 Oaklands Gosforth throughout the 2nd World War. Unfortunately my grandad doesn't remember the names of his grandparents and I am unable to find them anywhere.
I have checked the 1901 census for Oaklands but unfortunately it looks like it wasn't built then and as his oldest son (my gt grandfather) wasn't born until 1913 I am unable to find them all on a census.
This may not be a lot of help to you, but in 1936 a J Slater, foreman, lived at 14 Oaklands. He must have been reasonable well off or on call for his workplace as he had a telephone (51959).

I suspect that this could be my gt gt grandfather. I knew that he was well off as my grandad remembers having silver service at his house everytime he went and he owned many streets of houses in Gosforth and Jesmond.
Where did you find this information from and was there any dates of birth other names?
