hello, im looking for a hannah mary ross whom i believe was born in lythe 1851. i know no other details of her family, but have a feeling that she may have married in 1867, thus would not have been with parents in 71. I would love to know whom her parents are. Thankyou

Hannah Ross, Dau, 10, Scholar born Yorkshire Egton
Ann Ross, Dau, 9, Scholar born Yorkshire Egton
Jane Ross, Dau, 7, Scholar born Yorkshire Egton
William Ross, Son, 6, Scholar born Yorkshire Egton
Mary Ross, Dau, 7 months, born Yorkshire Egton
If you think that this is the right family I'll have a look in 1851.

Don't know anything about Lythe, in 1861 there is only one Hannah Ross born Yorkshire and she's in Egton.
You say you have no more information about her but you haven't plucked her name out of thin air, where do you know her from? Do you perhaps have the 1881 census? Has she been married? Did she have children? Where do you get the place Lythe from?

in 1871 my 2nd great grandfather James Pearson was living in whitby with his family including a hannah aged 24. in later census it says that hannah was born in lythe. the only marriage I could find that fitted in was a James Pearson and Hannah Mary Ross 1867 whitby, so i was hoping to see if soemone could find hannah in 51, 61 and then hoping that she may have disappeare in 71.

Well I'm in agreement to some extent with those entries that you've been given since if you do a search for Hannah Ross with Whitby as a keyword then it brings up the one in Egton, however, the age is a bit out isn't it? I'm suspecting she's the one age 24 in 1871 born Whitby.

In this case take "in law" to mean step. Seems, by Robert's birthplace that Lythe might be quite near Egton. So could very well be your family, no Hannah Ross showing up in a search.

thankyou very much, yes would seem that hannah has left home, married and hopefully married my james pearson. Egton is about three miles form lythe
