Peddie Family, Abernethy
« on: Tuesday 24 January 06 23:28 UTC (UK) »

Am modifying my previous post as have managed to get out to Abernethy and have a hunt round the old cemetery. It has answered a few questions, but unable to find any burials pre-1850 and I know the Peddies were in the village before that time.  They were, according to family lore, active in the secessionist church which alas has been abandoned for at least 50 years - but I don't think there were any burials in that churchyard, and the only other cemetery has only come into use in recent history.  Can anyone give me any pointers on where to look for these burials or the records from the secessionists in the village at that time?  I honestly cannot think of anywhere else they might be buried, assuming of course that they didn't just get beamed back aboard the mothership..... Grin.
Any help or suggestions where to look greatly appreciated!
Anna
