I have not used this site before, so please excuse me  if I make mistakes.  I would like tofind the record of my great grandmothers birth.  She was born  in 1820? in Dunbartonshire.  We have a sampler made by her dated 1837.  At that time she llived in Kirkintulloch.    she married in 1858 to Neil McIntosh, then they emmigrated to New Zealand.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

According to her 26th Oct 1858 Kirkintilloch marriage certificate, she was 32 in 1858 which would make her born in 1826.

I cannot find her birth record but her parents were John Neilson (labourer) and Jean Mitchell. There was a John Nelson (sic) and Jean Mitchell - banns on 28th Jul 1822 in Cadder, Lanarkshire and also 9th Aug 1822 in Baldernock, Stirlingshire and this may be them, Neither of these places are too far from Kirkintilloch.

Neil McIntosh was the son of John McIntosh (Coach builder) and Jean Kyle, he was aged 30 in 1858.
