Hi Linmey,
This gives plenty of notice to get ourselves 2 hours of hopfully uninterrupted great TV
Getting everything planned, phone off the hook, not answering the door, lights dimmed so they think we are out

Hi there, We have a bit of a dilemma in our house tonight ! I want to watch Stephen Fry on "Who do you think you are ?? on BBC2 at 9pm but the rest of the house want to watch the film on the other side. We have a digibox and I hear they repeat " Who do you think you are ? " later on in the evening on a different channel - anyone any idea what channel ??

One's native place is the shell of one's soul...

I've just finished reading a harrowing book about Auschwitz, and it will take me some time to recover from the images it portrayed. To actually discover that members of one's own family perished there - as Stephen Fry did - well, I can hardly imagine how that must feel... Keith

What a truly wonderful man Stephen Fry seems to be, and his mum, well, what can I say??
And, it seemed that Stephen did a bit more of the running around himself, finding things out, or was I just imagining that bit?
These programs just get better and better.

My great grandparents Basil & Sarah Sealey

I think this series of programmes is much better produced (and funded?) so there's a more thorough look at both sides of peoples' families rather than just homing in on one interesting ancestor.
It's the situation for the poor that I find most moving, apart from the rather special circumstances of the concentration camps.
Is it just me, or are the stories of the successfull middle/upper class ancestors just a bit dull? I'm a lot more moved/inspired by how our ancestors coped with the harshness of life as they found it
