Hi RootsChat,
just as a matter of interest - my grandfather worked at the Belfast Shipyard and actually worked on the Titanic as an apprentice driller. I have his apprenticeship paper - it cost two pounds sterling for him to be indentured.
I never knew him but have a great interest in the Titanic because of the family stories.
Hope he didn't make a mistake with that drill Cheers Aaron

My Great-Grandfather worked on the building of the Titanic too. The only story I know if it is that often at lunch time a mob would walk around and throw all the Catholics into the water. Niall

Click here to read the fascinating story of a bottle of holy water which belonged to Jerome Bourke, of Glanmire, Co. Cork. Jerome was amongst those who drowned when the Titanic sank.

The Titanic Inquiry Project website www.titanicinquiry.org contains the U.S. Inquiry, the British Inquiry as well at the Lusitania Inquiry.
