Hello,
If you have any records relating to the Meggison family, I would be grateful to have that information.  I was thinking that the Sedgefield entry might well be them. Haughton-le-skerne, Houghton-le-Spring,  Heighington, Auckland, Benfieldside, Bishop Auckland, Bishop Middleham are others. Awaiting your reply with bated breath.

Re: Co Durham Marriages for Longstaff
« Reply #3 on: Friday 27 January 06 01:50 GMT (UK) »

Hi
I am researching the Longstaff family of Bishop Auckland.
I expect that most marriages for the branch I am interested in,were married.bpt. and buried at St Andrews.
A name variation could be Langstaff.
There were several generations of butchers and also inn-keepers.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.I am happy for you to post the rest of any details here, assuming of course it is convenient to you.
So far I have not been able to reconcile any of the data you have given me.It appears that almost all of "my" Longstaff were connected to St Andrews.
