I'm looking for Browns Undecided   William Lumsden Brown, Thomas Foster Brown and Elizabeth M Brown.  It's a hard job but someone has to do it!! Any sort of Browns with unusual middle names would help.

Needle in haystack time I fear - i expect there'll be quite a few of them.
Any snippets gratefully received,
Best wishes, RuthieB

Oh well. I think if they were anywhere they would be West Auckland or St Helens Auckland, or, knowing them, they slipped out of the county to get married and back again!!

I appreciate your help though.

MAny thanks,
RuthieB (but not B for Brown, thankfully)

I don't suppose there's a Burdett Lambton Brown is there? Married ELizabeth M Brown?  They were both born in Washington, but may have moved south, but then I'm clutching at straws a bit here - possibly married around 1850ish.

Don't go to too much trouble - I should be able to trace a man with that sort of name...

Best wishes, and thanks

Oh Jan! How kind of you! I'd seen the 1881, but not the 1871. Fab!!

I'm trying to work backwards now; I think Burdett's wife is one of 'my' Browns, but I'd be very interested in his too - just in case they're cousins or something.

Many, many thanks

How very interesting!! I bet his second wife was the one who wanted the registry office! Them Browns seem to be a godless lot!!

However, Tom L Brown, son of Burdett Lambton Brown, the theological student appears to be a chaplain at a boys' home in the 1901 census. As a mature student who graduated with a degree in Theology just 2 years ago, this is most heartening news!!

Oodles of thanks, you've all been stars! Your help is most appreciated
