Bob,

On entering the SIT's advanced search one is told, "To search the SIT at least one of the four fields must be filled"   There are now five fields.

Even so, the "Region" field did not allow any entry when I tried to search somewhere.

Please advise on what I should be doing.

You're right!

My guess is that it's being updated. Just go with the four that work, and ignore regions for the present.

Hi Chas,

did you enter a country first ??
the "regions" field presents a selection list for some (but not all) countries.  If you don't enter a country, then the program doesn't know which "region list" to offer.

Bob,

Have tried again, this is what happened in advanced search.

Entered "England" but region could not be entered until I'd used the Confirm tab.

Then I entered Gloucestershire from drop down menu.

Used Search but nothing happened so entered Bisley and searched again - no joy!

Changed my cookies setting downwards - no joy.

Allowed pop ups - no joy.

What's happened?

OK, problem solved, try again please  Smiley

But please note:

Surname can be upper or lower case or mixed
'Place' and 'Comment' are (still) case-sensitive

i.e. it will find England / Gloucestershire / Bisley
 but not England / Gloucestershire / bisley

I'm still working on that  Smiley
