Deaths
Herbert John Breyley 28yrs 1901 21st Feb
Marjori Breyley 6d 1901 8th May
They are both buried in cemetary USC (can't find what USC stands for)
If Marjori is his daughter it was a sad year for young Jessie and William and Hannah.

Jan, do you have  second sight Shocked ??  I had just opened the thread to post EXACTLY what you had found, only the portrait of William Herbert IS there  http://libapp.sl.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/spydus/ENQ/PM/FULL1?430825,I

Cheesy Ahhhh, Louise, if they hadn't thrown the sampler away, we rootschatters would have been deprived of a really good chase Wink and the sampler would never had made it home to Castle Combe with all this accompaning history of Hannah & her family, so maybe we should thank the chuckee Cheesy

HELEN - It would be nice to think that Hannah was our guiding hand on this & I think she's tickled pink about the whole business Wink Like you, I was thinking, 'wouldn't it be nice to see a photo of Hannah!' there must be one somewhere...come on Hannah, what about it?

Maybe Hannah is giving us a helping hand putting exhibitions back on line for us Shocked Grin

Have just found someone on genesreunited who has Lyall and Naomi Breyley in their tree.

Have sent them a message and a link to this topic. Grin

Keep our fingers crossed.

Helen

I had trouble with one of the photos on the Australian Library site - to start with too. Huh  It wouldn't let me open page from the link, but found a way to it eventually!

Thanks, Al C, for alerting me to this topic!  What a fascinating read its been and what a great piece of combined detective work ... a practical application of the 'Challenge' principles, and something that will definitely have to appear in the list of favourite Rootschat threads! Smiley

Great stuff, everyone!

I've just been having a look on GR and there is a lady with a Mary Wallop born 1840 in Castle Combe, Wiltshire (not the same person that Helen refers to in her latest post).

Has she already been contacted?  If not, I'd be more than happy to send her a message Smiley

There is also 19 different variants of th name Breyley Shocked and some of the people listed were born NSW, Australia Wink
