Hi everyone, Can anyone out there help me PLEASE. I'm trying to find the Newlyns actually in Newlyn, Cornwall but don't know how to go about it. We originally thought it was family "legend" but someone in the family actually saw a gravestone - in the churchyard near the Newlyn sign on the road from Penzance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jan P

Genealogy
The On-line Parish Clerk (OPC) scheme operates a look-up service to help family historians. This service is new so available information may be limited. The OPC for Newlyn East is Michael McCormick. The OPC can be contacted by email via the link on the OPC Site (given below).
Newlyn East (Newlyn in Pydar) Michael McCormick
If you have problems contacting an OPC (bounced email etc.), please contact the Co-ordinator, Paul Brewer at
Please direct any querys you may have to the OPC or Co-ordinator. This is a good start, if any, for your 'journey'.
Good hunting,

Manaia, thank you so much for this reply - my only one. In response to your question about christian names - I apologise for the omission - the ones I know about are Henry, Walter, Albert, George, William and Emily. All these in the late 1800s and early 1900s are by now in Woolwich (Kent in those days). Emily named her father on her marriage certificate as William Newlyn. I'm waiting for Henry's M.C. now. Will mail OPC as you suggest. Many thanks again. Jan P
