Smith family Ware early 1800's
« on: Sunday 29 January 06 20:34 GMT (UK) »

I wondered if anyone could look up a Smith family for me please (Oh no I hear you cry!!). Have found a suitable candidate on the 1851 census - Baldock Street, Ware, Herts.       William Smith (a) 54 carpenter. (b) Yoxford, Herts.   Sophia (a) 52 wife (b) Ware, Herts.    Daniel (a) 31. malt malster. (b) Ware.   Charles (a) 22 Malster (b) Ware.   Joseph (a) 15. malster (b) Ware with possibly their son William(27) having moved to Lambeth by 1851. Have found Daniel's birth on the IGI in 1820 and William and Sophia's marriage in 1817 but no other entries for this family. My interest is Charles who I think is the father of my Great grandfather Daniel Smith. I know that by 1856 Charles had married Elizabeth Essington and was living in Lambeth - presumably getting work with his brother William who was already there. Thanks Greenacre1

Looks as though this is one of the usual mistaken county requests.  Don't you mean HerTfordshire, rather than HerEfordshire?  Ware is in HerTfordshire.

Whoops, sorry I am always doing this probably because Herefordshire is my favourite county to visit, beautiful countryside and friendly people.

Will start again!

Thanks
