Hi Peter,

Saffron Walden is a whole CD to search. If you have the index or can find someone with the index to search, you can find the reference and I'll give you the census entry.

The indexes I think are for sale for a few quid with the Essex Family History society.

This seems to be the couple on the 1851 census living in Saffron Walden

SMITH, CHARLES, 42, born SAFFRON WALDEN, ESS, folio341   in SFW

SMITH, ELIZA, 34, born SAFFRON WALDEN, ESS, folio 341 in SFW


On the 1861

SMITH, ELIZA, 44, piece 1122, folio 97, parish SFW
SMITH, CHARLES, 52, piece 1122, folio 97, parish SFW
