I am looking for a Louisa b]Downham[/b born 1852 in West Iisley. Does anyone know of this Family of Downham that was in that area?

Hi Geney 
I checked the IGI and found
Levi Downham with wife Susan.West Hendred Berkshire
they had three girls
Louisa 1875 West Hendred Berkshire
Eliza 1876 Tubney Berkshire
1881 Burghfield Reading Berkshire
This is all the numbers on the IGI relating to the parish of West Ilsley Berkshire.

If you are able to ascertain who Louisa's parents where, I will have a look in the 1841 census for you. There are some Downhams but it is not clear if they are yours . They are in Burghfield and also Wantage; which isn't too far away from West Ilsley.
The parish registers are split between Oxfordshire and Berkshire. This occurred because the parish boundary changed around 1837.
I have only searched the IGI for Berkshire.

I have come to me Louisa's Father Henry Downham b 1815 West Iisley, Mother Sarah Downham b 1811 Blewbury, Berkshire, Julie b 1851 West Iisley, Louisa b 1852 West Iisley,Mary Ann b 1848 West Iisley. Census 1861 by 1871 Louisa is home alone with parents, wondering if this is the right family! Louisa's date is right, could I take you up on looking in 1841 census please. Thank you

Julia, Daughter, , 11m
Looking at the ages of the childreen, they should be in the 1841 census at West Ilsley.

I have looked in the 1841 census for Berkshire.( West ILSLEY )
I can find no mention of your family.
You might need to try Oxfordshire, when the 1841 census becomes available. They may have moved over the border to work.
If you look on the link I gave you previously you should be able to trace the family on the IGI.This will take you back a lot further than 1841.

I am trying to find a cunning blighter Walter Fox b Nov 1869 his Father Henry b 1845, in 1871 Henry would be 26yrs and Walter would be 2yrs. From Whissonett, Norfolk any relation?
